Amazing article. I just love her dedication to anti-materialism and consumerism. Love the idea of using materials from the community, made back into something for the community and not just making products for a niche group of the elite. Totally green and socially conscious!

Great post. We really need to talk more about women-positive birth support. I feel that today's hospital method is totally out-of-touch with a woman's needs, her spirit and the honouring of her experience. Hospitals should be there for emergencies, but when it is a normal birth women are totally over-medicalized. Love this site! :)

There would be a lot less c-sections is women were not being over-medicalized or put through the system like a number, not a human being. We really need to re-think the amount of unnecessary birth surgeries going on today.

I love that this post is talking about re-using materials instead of just buying "new". It seems crazy to buy anything new because there is already too much stuff on the planet. Why does everyone want the newest thing, instead of saving money for what matters - like education and organic food, or perhaps giving to someone else who needs it more than you do?!? Thanks for this great site that talks about the importance of consuming a lot less! As parents, we need to teach our children the value of good relationship and protecting the planet, not buying our self-worth.
